Back in the saddle!

Solage

After the weekend disaster
life is getting back to normal again for me.
There are so many perks with getting a new puter- but it also feels like learning a new language
getting used to the new layout and graphics....

I have been spinning up a storm and finding happiness in that my hand doesn't hurt.
yippppeee!
and..... my hand spun is looking like " itself  "again.

"God had him in mind when he made cowboys"

My horse shoer recommended this movie.
A documentary of Buck Brennaman.

I read his book first

It was incredibly eye opening
his life was filled with so much fear and abuse from his violent father.
Buck managed to turn it all around and help so many horses and so many people.

I have the highest respect for this man.

( you don't have to be a horse person to enjoy this book or movie)

Fiona is really progressing.

This is my horse trainer Stephanie
she is helping me start Fiona.
We work together 5 days a week.

Fiona is now lunging with a saddle and bit.

She whinnies when she sees me.
.... yep, feels pretty special, ehem.

I still have to pinch myself
knowing that she belongs to me.
I love how she nudges my pocket to see if there are any hidden apples for her.

***
and last but least
I discovered

...  a sweet blog
 Tracey inspired me to look
 at Quince and Co.
 for some lovely knitting patterns.

 &

 landed in my shopping cart
 yippee skippy for spring knitting.

Yes, I am back in the saddle again!

  1. I did not think to look for a book, but I know the movie is a gem. So much for each of us to learn from this man's story.

  2. i loved buck! watched it with the mr. and then we watched it a second time so our horse crazy 10yo could watch it. she wants to buy a horse (or three) and then have buck come over and hangout. she's a big dreamer ;-)

  3. Beautiful patterns you have picked out and now I am looking forward to seeing the finished items.
Thank you for the movie recommendation. I am going to pick up a copy for my daughter inlaw, Ashley! Have to keep earning those great mother inlaw points you know :)[Ha!]

  4. I recently stumbled upon your blog and can tell that I am going to enjoy following your journey with Fiona. I too, am a horse person and love the bond between humans and horses. Buck is from my old stomping grounds and went to school with my ex-husband. He is a great inspiration and could teach many people in this world a thing or two.

I also love looking at your photos of all the yarn. I have no idea how to knit, but I love the look of yarn!

    1. Hi Misty, nice to meet you.
So fun to read you comment.
A dream come true to finally have my own horse...and to have found the " wisdom and compassion" that Buck teaches. I am going to his clinic in Whitefish in Nov. as a spectator...I am counting down the days.
Knitting is like riding- do it once and your hooked!
      (Hah!)

  5. I come from Yarn Along, I'll be back. Love your roving pictures. Very sorry about the computer, if you are like me, it was probably time for a new one; my Farmer keeps saying, we have to get you a new one.

May the Warm Winds of Heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
