 Knitting project started this weekend:

I am using my own hand dyed yarn

80/20 Merino - Bamboo
Super soft with a lovely sheen.

Not reading much these days- I love non fiction...any suggestions?

What are you knitting?

Yarnalong with Ginny

  1. your yarn looks absolutely delicious! so pleased to have found you through Yarn Along ;0)

  2. oh that will look lovely in your hand dyed especially with a bit of sheen. i see spring has influenced your dyeing???

  3. Love that pattern. Can't wait to see it knitted up in your yarn. I've never heard about Yarn Along. Will have to check it out!

  4. Your yarn and that color are perfect for the season!! :)

I've not heard of Yarn Along either...I checked it out and I think I might have to join in! It sounds tres fun!!

    Happy knitting!! :)

  5. I am so excited to see your Miriam!
Do you have any yarns especially for hot weather? I have no idea what to use, but I
know I need something as the heat and humidity here are really horrid!

    1. Hi Tracey...unless you knit with something of the same fiber as the "Emperors new clothes" ...maybe find some lovely linen- cotton blend?
I'll never forget finishing up a wool fairisle sweater for my girl in 90 degree heat- gotta loveit.

  6. Oh my that yarn is gorgeous!!! The colors are fabulous!! Remind me of summer!! :)

  7. i really must try some of your yarn! it's just so beautiful.
and i am so glad we found one another again.
i send you love, love, my friend.

have you read " a vintage affair" ? i really liked it.

  8. that yarn looks absolutely gorgeous!! the colour is divine!
non-fiction: hm, i love non-fiction books too, i've been reading a lot of farming related books such as Barnheart by Jenna Woginrich. Also I'm currently reading Pioneer Women: Voices from the Kanas Frontier. It's fascinating!

  9. That colorway is so pretty and soothing. My daughter just told me that I need to read Soaring with Fidel by David Gessner about our Ospreys migrating to Cuba I guess. She cannot stop talking about it! Must be good. :)

  10. Thank you all for so many great suggestions on reading...I'm out to the library!

  11. beautiful color! I love just about every quince & co pattern--miriam is one of my favorites! can't wait to see it progress!

Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
