Life in the fast lane....

Crochet a few little urchins this weekend-very fun.
Nice to you use my own yarn
Had lunch with my dad at the café.
He is 80 years and has Alzheimer's- some days are good- some not.
This time it was great- we speak both Norwegian & American
a good visit.
Met some wonderful locals at the café too
Kelley & Shaun with their little son (so cute)
They have just opened a brewery in town
(if you are in town check them out)
This village is getting some great little businesses
hi Kelley :)

also this week we signed up our oldest for drivers ed
Driving with Jules
is not like driving miss Daisy.
It's more like:
get in
sit down
shut up & hang on
He has a girl friend again so he is on a mission to get his license
Life in the fast lane.
(...and would probably kill me if he knew I was writing this...hehe)

Foghorn has been on the warrior path lately
in love with Vikings, Knights and Indians
and anything that has pointy and shiny edge to it works....

Winter came back
if only for a few days
I don't care
in 2 weeks we are off to sunny Florida!
dreaming of sandy beaches, salt water and sunshine on my shoulders

In other news...
We bought this table this weekend
 It's actually a desk
 underneath it is written
~ co treasury 1933 ~
It has that nice rustic farm house quality
painted a pleasant green
next weekend we are sanding and waxing the top to reveal
 it's true beauty
oak -so it should turn out great
Picked up my needles for the first time in a while
and started knitting a wee bit
...baby steps

What's going on in your neck of the woods?

  1. Love your new table! The little urchins are so nice too. My son is 15 so it really won't be so long until driving lessons are upon us too. I think that I will be scared!!! Your Dads visit sounded like time to be treasured.
Not much going on here, lots of art (loving it!), snow one minute, sun the next, and all the usual work!! xx

  2. How nice that you and your dad connected :) Loved reading about that, and that you are knitting somewhat. My son is almost 20 yo and he is a very good cautious driver and I am always "critiquing" his skills...I think I always will :)

  3. I love how the purple and green urchin turned out. And that table - beautiful just the way it is! I love beat up oldies. But, I suppose if you are going to use it for eating it's probably not the safest...

  4. Isn't riding with someone you gave birth to a joy?;) My children tell me to just keep my head down, not say a word and knit. I have one left to get his license and neither of us is in a hurry, thank goodness.

I am in love with your table and can't wait to see it stripped back to it's natural beauty...oak is so beautiful.

Glad you are taking baby steps and picking up your needles again.

Take care of yourself and enjoy the day. Oh, are your bags already packed for FL?

  5. Oh, have a wonderful visit to Sanibel. I am not a big fan of Florida, but Sanibel Island - just beautiful!
And your crocheted rocks are great.

  6. I think I love your writing style.
Greeting from your creative courage class fellow :)

  7. i think your foghorn and my frog prince would get along famously!

    ps: loooooove the crocheted rocks.

  8. dear camilla,
i don't know what happened to your knitting hands, but it made my heart happy to hear you taking baby steps again. love your covered rocks, they are very easter looking, like colorful eggs. my mom had alzheimers, she passed a year and a half ago, i really understand. many hugs to your dad and you.
i love love your table, love your dining room, those stools. how pretty your two vases of tulips are. you have such a lovely sense of style.
and i have never ever been happy to sit in the passenger when any of my 5 have driven! good luck!

  9. oh oh oh oh oh oh oh love those little crocheted rocks. I want a table of them. In fact, I want them on your table.
    LOVE the table.

  10. darling crocheted rocks and amazing table. so cozy.
i totally remember learning to drive at 16 and the again at 20 plus. nerve racking times. good luck and lots of deep breathing.

May the Warm Winds of Heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
