Easter in Big Fork

We had a lovely sunny weekend
Easter Sunday we packed lunch
loaded the car with all the kids and the dogs and off we went.

Big Fork is a lovely lakeside community a few miles down the road from us.
Sits at the NE end of Flathead lake.

Home to Flathead Indians and the modern Cowboy.
A mecca for artists and summer tourists a like.
Surrounded by it's natural beauty of the mountains
 and beautiful clear lakes
you'll understand why so many people flock to this lovely place.

Spring has sprung in the flower beds

Side walks artistically adorned by moose.

...and yes, a river runs thru it.

Some say Big Fork
 has a sadness to it
built upon an Indian burial ground

Artsy shops

Yummy restaurants..with hip architecture

 "Pioneer Woman"

I have to say I do feel like her some time (sans the bonnet)
...settling out here in the west by myself
leaving all my family in the old country of Norway.

Fly shops galore.

Gorgy spring day
Eating and playing alfresco with our family...couldn't ask for a better Easter Sunday.

How was yours?

  1. Big Fork just went on my list, the list of places I will visit before I am too old to walk on my two feet! Maybe it's my indian heritage calling me, that looks like such a fun place.

  3. Ahh, look at those mountains. I love that range, that space, the water of Flathead. I dream of a train ride there. So wonderful you had such a great (and close) trip.

May the Warm Winds of Heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
