Making...a space of my own.

With 3 boys and chef there is an abundance of soccer, UFC, basket ball
much manly man stuff going around here
at times I feel like I live in a bear den....
Not much space to do my thing
Except...in my studio, why didn't think of that before?

Lori inspired me to make a space of my own after reading her blog and seeing the lovely images of here creative space

 I went forth.

little colorful flags from material leftover
artwork and Easter card from Foghorn adorn the wall
postcard and  a heart sweater (that barely fits me) from my friend Leigh

Books to be read
heart rock
 paper flowers
mr. rock
Buddha (gone Mardigras)
 from my dads travels

..and of course my knitting needle collection

These are from my mother and have been past down to her for generations
This is how we store our needles in Norway
wooden hollowed tube that are adorned
 with Rosenmaling

Mary - the lamb and Earl - the squirrel
 wood from Base camp
Buddha from yard sale in Rhinebeck

Pattern on the wall
Yarn for future project
 a shawl

Inspired and refreshed.
This will work!

  1. It's a beautiful space Camilla. Every woman needs a place to call her own, a place with pretty things, things that have meaning and touch our souls...I'm glad you have yours.

    I have space,
    but I have been

I too created a little space in our little home a few months ago, so nice to have a space just for me and things I enjoy.

  6. i love your space. it's so colorful and so unique...filled with your treasures. and i recognize that shawl pattern on the wall ;-)

ps: rosenmaling. i never knew what the technique was called but have always loved it. i've been longing for a pair of clogs with the flowers painted on them...it's a bit of a challenge to find but i know when i do, they'll be even more special for the all the looking and waiting.

  7. Camilla! I love your space, it has a wonderful feel and look. I just want to study each photo, taking in all your treasures. I am so touched by the needle holders from your mother. I've never seen those before. I will have to ask my aunt if she knows of any in our family, my grandmother was from norway and my grandfather from sweden. I am going to start looking for a holder too! You know, you've now inspired me to refresh mine.
    xxx Lori

May the Warm Winds of Heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
